Braiins is a software company started by Jan Capek and Pavel Moravec in 2011. In 2012, Slush Pool, the first mining pool launched in November 2010 by Marek “Slush” Palantinus, initially called “Bitcoin.cz Mining Pool faced challenges as his mining pool became a target for hackers, resulting in significant Bitcoin losses. Recognizing the need for expertise, he collaborated with Braiins, which eventually took over the pool's operations in 2013. Slush then launched SatoshiLabs to focus on projects like Trezor. In 2016, Bitcoin.cz Mining Pool officially rebranded to Slush Pool. That same year, they became the first pool operator to allow individual miners to vote on which version of bitcoin they support. After the contentious Bitcoin Cash hard fork in 2017, they decided to focused solely on bitcoin. In 2022 Braiins officially said goodbye to Slush Pool, renaming it Braiins Pool in an effort to unify their mining tools was under one umbrella.
